Blast from the Past

I get regular Google Alerts on some random and not-so-random things. One alert looks for Gifts & Decorative Accessories and sends me notifications when those words alone or in combination show up on the Web. Of course, I am most interested when Google alerts me to things that it has picked up from us here at Gifts & Decorative Accessories and from GiftsandDec.com. 

I just got an alert on a Blog posting that picked up on the word "gifts" and another that picked up on "gifts" and "decorative accessories" in a news item. Ordinarily, I don’t pay too much attention to these because they most often have nothing to do with anything, but the blog posting this one piqued my interest and I clicked through. Entitled "Lunch at Fair Oaks Pharmacy," was that a blast from the past. I had to read it. Then I looked to the other because it was from article in a Pasadena newspaper, the town where Fair Oaks Pharmacy is. Lo and behold another story on the shop! How weird is that! Two at the same time!

Fair Oaks Pharmacy is a familiar old friend, so to speak. This old-fashioned pharmacy, soda fountain and gift shop is a former Gifts & Decorative Accessories Retailer Excellence Award winner, under its former owners, the Millers. The Millers sold the pharmacy many years ago — maybe about 10? Anyway, after that, under its new ownership Fair Oaks dropped off of our radar. The blog post brought it back. I am thrilled to see that it is still doing well and carrying on the traditions of not just the pharmacy, but the soda fountain and gift shop as well.
