Bar Code Birthday

Has everyone wished the Bar Code a Happy Birthday? This indispensible retail technology tool is currently celebrating its 35th birthday. Can you believe it? I was working at Parade magazine all those years ago when the numbers-and-lines box code was first tested to see if the scanners could read them properly when they were printed on newsprint. It all seemed so mysterious then.
