125,000 Gorillas

August 7, 2008

Is it just me or do you think it’s odd that they “just discovered" up to 125,000 gorillas? According to a Chicago Tribune, article "Researchers find 125,000 Gorillas": “More than 125,000 western lowland gorillas have been discovered deep in the forests of the Republic of Congo, dramatically increasing the estimated population, primatologists said Tuesday.”

Where have they been hiding? Have they used camouflage? I can see discovering 5 gorillas or even 25 gorillas. Okay, okay, you could probably hide 150 gorillas. But 125,000 gorillas? C’mon.

Do you know how big a gorilla is? Real big, that’s how big. Look around your office and think about how many gorillas you could fit in there. Not many I bet.

So, I guess its time for someone to come out with a new gorilla toy, a gorilla plush or maybe re-re-release one of the old King Kong movies. How about just start shipping those cheap rubber gorillas. In the mean time, what else is hiding out there? A quarter of a million weasels?
