Game Finder
There is probably no one in the world and possibly the solar system that more makes it their life’s mission to support board games than Mary Couzin. Her efforts include the Chicago Toy and Game Fair, the Discover Games website and the Toy and Game Inventor Awards.
Now, in conjunction with Pat Matthews of Live Oak Games, Mary has introduced a Game Finder on her Games for Educators website. Mary tells me that “by using the game finder, educators, librarians, homeschoolers and parents can now search for a particular game by educational value (Mary says that almost every game is educational), curriculum standards, age, subject, and more.” Game manufacturers are invited to visit the site and add their games to the data base.
In today’s world, most kids hear the words game and think of their Wii. We need to make sure that this rising generation fully appreciates board games for their ability to create play without a plug or batteries. Everybody in the board game industry should therefore not only be grateful to Mary and Pat but contribute their game information to Game Finder. The more games in the data base the more valuable the site.
Great job Mary and Pat.
