The Washington DC “Fly In” has an impact
May 15, 2010
When you do something like go to Washington DC to try to influence legislation you really don’t know if your efforts will have an impact. Well, apparently our efforts actually were helpful. According to a TIA bulletin, the TIA was subsequently invited to meet with “… Congressman [Joe] Barton to talk about specific changes we would like to see in the proposed CPSIA amendments.” Barton is the ranking Republican on the committee that is considering changes to the Consumer Products Safety Improvement Act.
This is excellent and it is thanks to the great organizational efforts of TIA staff inside and outside the beltway. Well done!
