When it comes to gas prices, $4.10 is the magic number. That’s where a whopping 40 percent of respondents think gas prices per gallon will top out this summer. Another nearly 30 percent (28.57) are even more pessimistic, picking $4.25 — the highest option offered. About a fifth, 22.86 percent, plunked for an even $4. Only about 8 percent thought gas would remain under $4 a gallon: 5.71 percent chose $3.90, and a measly 2.86 selected $3.75, the lowest price option. Here’s hoping gas-saving shoppers will choose to stroll downtown instead.
