1. Most Chinese Gift Suppliers to Raise Prices
Hong Kong — Virtually all — 92 percent — of Greater China craft gift suppliers plan to raise prices in the coming months, according to trade publisher Global Sources' China Sourcing Report: Craft Gifts. San Francisco — Nuts For Candy, a California retailer, filed a class-action lawsuit against vendor Ganz, alleging that the conditions the company sets for stocking its popular Webkinz plush line violate U.S. antitrust laws. <<Click to Continue>>
 
 
3. Stationery Show Collects Tons for Troops

The gift business is running lean and mean these days: 44 percent of respondents to this week’s poll say that when it comes to staffing they’re cutting back on people or hours worked. Another 26 percent are going it alone. Only 17 percent are holding staff levels steady, and a lucky few — 13 percent — are adding hours or hiring new employees.
