Woodstock Chimes Launches Moonlight Sonata Chime

The chime measures 23 inches in overall length and is one of nearly 20 new products Woodstock Chimes has launched for summer 2021.

Woodstock Chimes has launched the Moonlight Sonata Chime, tuned to the opening notes of Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No.14 in C-sharp minor, known throughout the world as “Moonlight Sonata.” The chime measures 23 inches in overall length and is one of nearly 20 new products Woodstock Chimes has launched for summer 2021, which can be seen at the Dallas, Atlanta and Las Vegas gift shows.

“The opening notes of Beethoven’s ‘Moonlight Sonata’ are instantly recognizable to musicians and non-musicians alike,” said Garry Kvistad, founder and owner of Woodstock Chimes and a GRAMMY Award-winning musician. “The world recently celebrated what would have been Beethoven’s 250th birthday. The Moonlight Sonata Chime is a tribute to this great composer and a welcome addition to our Famous Melodies series, which is a strong performer for us. The chime features black tubes, suggesting a nocturnal setting to accompany this beautiful melody. We also offer the Woodstock Ode to Joy Chime, tuned to notes from the finale of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9.”

The Moonlight Sonata Chime has an elegant look, combining teak finish ash wood with six satin black aluminum tubes. The windcatcher is easily removable, so consumers can personalize it with a special message or date by taking it to a local silk-screening or engraving shop. Several Woodstock Chimes retailers have made this service available in store at point of purchase as well. The Moonlight Sonata Chime comes ready to give in a kraft gift box, retails for $48 and has a lifetime tuning guarantee. It will begin shipping in late July.
